About the Role
The Company is in need of a part-time finance leader to take on the role of Controller/CFO. This hands-on position is pivotal in overseeing all accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and managing budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial reporting processes. The successful candidate will also be responsible for supporting grant administration, compliance, and financial tracking activities, as well as coordinating audit preparation and ensuring regulatory reporting requirements are met. Strategic guidance to the organizational leadership is a key aspect of the role, and the finance leader will be expected to develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls, and provide financial analysis and recommendations. Applicants for this role at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' experience in accounting, finance, or financial leadership, with a significant background in nonprofit accounting. Experience in managing federal and state grants is essential. The role requires advanced skills in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel, as well as the ability to review reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close processes. The ideal candidate will be adept at overseeing payroll, invoicing, and other routine financial functions, and will be instrumental in providing the financial support necessary for the organization's day-to-day management and long-term strategic goals.
