Founder, Entrepreneur in Residence Job at AI House, Seattle, WA

  • AI House
  • Seattle, WA

Job Description

READY TO GET STARTED? APPLY DIRECTLY:

This isn’t a job. It’s your company.

AI House—formerly AI2 Incubator—is looking for technical founders and deep domain experts ready to build applied AI companies that solve real-world problems.

We don’t hire you to work for us. We partner with you, invest in your company, and work alongside you to build it.

Born out of the Allen Institute for AI, we’ve helped launch companies acquired by Apple, DocuSign, Thomson Reuters, and more. Over 90% of our incubated companies have gone on to raise venture funding.

WHAT YOU GET

Capital and compute. Up to $600,000 invested on a SAFE with a $10M valuation cap, plus access to up to $1.5M in free, non-dilutive cloud credits.

Hands-on company building. Up to 12 months of support across AI architecture, product design, customer discovery, pricing, go-to-market, hiring, and fundraising. Not a three-month bootcamp.

Help building your founding team. Technical founders get support turning technology into a business. Domain experts get help connecting with vetted technical talent.

A community that helps you build. AI House on Seattle’s waterfront connects you with founders, researchers, operators, investors, and Resident Experts. We help you reach customers and pilot partners, with fundraising support backed by 200+ VC relationships.

We work with roughly 15 startups per year—not hundreds. You get a working partnership, not a logo on a slide.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Technical founders who see what AI makes possible and want to turn that insight into a product customers will pay for.

Domain experts who understand an industry’s problems firsthand—and want to partner with strong technical founders to build the solution.

You can be starting with an idea, looking for a co-founder, or already building with a team and early revenue. No polished deck, MBA, or PhD required. You need conviction, grit, and a problem worth solving.

YOUR COMPANY. CLEAR TERMS.

Our incubation partnership is 7% common stock—the same share class founders hold. This is separate from our cash investment of up to $600,000 on a SAFE with a $10M cap.

Initial investments typically start at $100,000 for solo founders or $200,000 for teams, increasing with early milestones. For teams at the right stage, we can invest the full amount upfront.

No board seats. We build alongside you, not above you.

WHAT COMMITMENT LOOKS LIKE

No permanent relocation required. Every incubated founder spends at least one month in Seattle, working from AI House daily. After that, teams can work remotely and return for in-person collaboration.

You can apply while employed or studying, but should be prepared to transition to full-time company-building. We work with academic founders on arrangements that recognize university commitments.

Rolling admissions. Start when you’re ready.

You lead the company. You don’t have to build it alone.
